1940Helen Alkire returns to OSU to become a faculty member within the Department of Physical Education.
1954Dance attains its own focus within the Department of Physical Education, establishing itself as a Division.
1968Dance becomes a Department, where Helen Alkire serves as Chair.
1975The Department of Dance moves from Pomerene Hall into Sullivant Hall.
1983Vera “Vickie” Blaine becomes Chair of OSU Department of Dance
1995Karen Bell becomes Chair and serves until her promotion to Dean in 2000.
2000Michael Kelly Bruce becomes Chair, succeeding Karen Bell.
2006Scott Marsh succeeds Michael Kelly Bruce as Chair.
2006Susan Van Pelt Petry becomes Chair and serves until 2015.
2014The Department of Dance moves back into the renovated Sullivant Hall.
2015Susan Hadley becomes Chair. She is still serving as Chair to this day.
