The Ohio State Department of Dance Digital Archive Project
The Ohio State University Department of Dance Digital Archive Project is an ongoing initiative to digitize materials that have accumulated in the Department's collection for over 60 years. Starting as the Division of Dance, OSU Dance's legacy was founded by Helen P. Alkire, who would also be the Department of Dance's first Chairwoman when it graduated to a department in 1968. From this point forward, OSU Dance has been a national leader in the field of dance in higher education, and has led to countless successful careers in performance, education, choreography, and medicine through it's BFA, MFA, and PhD programs.
Through the Digital Archive Project, The Ohio State University Department of Dance intends to showcase its visual history as a platform for education, for research, and as a representation of the outstanding (and continuing) legacy of the Makers, Thinkers, & Trailblazers of The Ohio State University Department of Dance.
Please check back on this site periodically, we have only scratched the surface with our digitization initiative!
